Alright. 2024 is officially over, and what a crazy year it has been. It's only been 4 or so months on Newgrounds for me, but so much has happened that it deserves a recap. Here are some of the highlights from that short time.
The very first activity on my account here was a review of WaterFlame's legendary Rocket Race and publishing 272. Not a bad way to start, but things got much better.
Not long after I reviewed Troisnyx's Tsukikanade and got my first reaction to something I wrote. It was naturally very flattering, but I was reminded of the importance of "equality" and meeting others on the same level, something that's informed a lot of what I've been doing in my own life.
A few days later, @am-zynk became my first follower. Later they became my friend too. I always enjoy seeing the people they follow in my feed.
Fast forward a few more reviews of Troisnyx's songs and I find myself with a friend request from her on September 6. It felt unreal, to the point where it felt my heart was going to fly out of my body. Even still, I don't entirely feel like it happened. But that's enough for now. Instead of harping about how great I am, how about I do some good? I ask any of you who read this to PLEASE consider following her band Two Meeps and Troisnyx herself on bluesky and pre-save on their new single "I Am Afraid": https://show.co/SoZ6MeI. I can't pay myself, but the least I can do is give some visibility. They're a great group, trust me.
Beyond that, September was most defined by a lot of reviews and the publishing of what was initially my most popular song: The Death Ride.
In October, I had fun exploring the Halloween activity here and even contributed my own song for Halloween this year. Autumn Swirl, probably still my favourite song I've written, was also published.
November featured a lot. Most importantly, I got scouted into the audio portal. Definitely a lot of responsibility for me as an artist now (no more posting trashy redos LOL), but it promises great reward in return. It also featured the release of my Christmas album, which really failed to catch fire, but two new followers made me happy: @tapestoppa and @adr3-n. I suspect this had something to do with my absolutely glowing review of Clouds Divide I wrote, but I'm not totally sure. Also huge, I got accepted onto Tankmas during November. More on that soon.
Come December, things really ramped up. I released the song most of you will recognize me for: Christmas Joy. This is the song I wrote for Tankmas, which has also really helped me grow on this platform, when I went from 3 fans to now almost 50. Shoutout to @mrshmoods for helping get me into this project. I oublished an Advent Calendar, which has gotten some acclaim, and even got accepted onto the Video Game Music Challenge this year.
Let's hope for a great 2025!

PS: To those who are interested in my work, comment what you'd like me to do next year and I'll try to make it work!

Hello friend!
I wouldn't say I followed you because you really liked Clouds. I just thought you were cool! It's rare to find someone who leaves thoughtful reviews too, and when you find one, you should probably follow them to keep in touch!
When I get mentions like these I feel like a famous person 😂 It's still hard for me to process that I have fans, even after like a decade

Ah well thoughtfulness is at the core of what I value in art. And I feel flattered to be called cool.
