Duck Life 15th Birthday.

Posted by RealTin3Sn - 3 weeks ago

Alright. Who here remembers this? https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/529535

I sure do. And in times like these, sometimes games like that are a great mode of escapism back to when times were actually cool. You know, free of algorithms, crazy AI-generated videos, when the pop we hear today was in its heyday. But alas, that's not why I'm writing this. I could've talked about this any day of the year. There's something far more important:

Duck Life is going to hit a legendary milestone this year, in just a few weeks: 15 years. Yep, 15 years since this game that defined an entire generation got published to Newgrounds. And when I say an entire generation, I sure as hell mean it. I can still remember back in like the early 2010s playing this game and its soundtrack forming the seeds that would eventually grow into whoever Tin3Sn was today. And I've even read someone who said that it is one of the three big games that shaped Gen Z, so who are we to dispute its greatness?

This momentous occasion deserves something from me, even if it's just a redo of the theme song, because Duck Life is one of the games I owe everything to. I really hope whoever reads this contributes something to the occasion. Surely, among the sea of users here, at least one of you who reads this was of age to understand that this game was something special, and I really hope you still remember it. The games are so precious, and they deserve our love and preservation.

I'm gonna tag my song with #ducklife15, and if you want your creation to be associated with this post, tag it with that too. Otherwise, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to go out if you have the time, maybe draw a work of fanart or something, and publish it here for the game's birthday. It's a piece of history and I can't let it be forgotten.

In advance of the birthday, happy 15 years, Duck Life.

-Tin.
